Staying committed to goalkeeping means putting in extra time and effort to improve goalkeeping techniques.

Goalkeeper Training Sessions create a strong foundation for technical skill development, but taking away what you are learning and applying these skills outside of GK training is the only way to fly like a true goalkeeper.

Stay motivated to put the extra time and effort in and practice techniques you are learning when you can.  Goalkeeping is fun and a little bit of practice time, each day, goes a long way.  Practice, Practice, Practice and Excel, Excel, Excel.
Now “keep” in mind that applying basic technical skills at practices and at game time is a true test of development, but there is no better way to apply technique then after practicing what you have learned at GK training sessions.  So, practice on your own time, in a quiet and relaxed environment (in your yard, community park or any safe and flat green space).  Practice with a family member or a friend and show them what goalkeeping is all about!

EXAMPLE:
Name:
Keith Keepsing
Question:
How are you putting in the extra time and effort to improve your basic goalkeeping technique?
Answer:
Every other day I practice with my dad in the front yard.1.  I overhand throw to my dad 25 times to increase accuracy and power.
2.  I practice 25 collapse dives to each side combined with a quick second recovery technique
3.  I practice catching the ball 25 times at the highest point with a high thrusting knee as I jump, while my dad creates a goalkeeping shadow.
4. I bounce into my “W” 250 times with “gorilla” arms.
5. I practice 10 effective front dives.
